I'm curious to see what the Roxanne sounds like. The new JH3A units that shipped out are having some big issues, so if that doesn't get fixed with the unit Jerry is sending to me, I might get to exchange this for something else, something like a JH13 + refund for the amp portion. Since Roxannes with CF is around the same price....

I'll keep my fingers crossed on the Sony's. Really hope they can really bring something special with their hybrids and also improve their PHA-2. V-Shaped signature? I feel that's how it is, since it's easily likable compared to more neutral phones.

One thing often repeatedly mentioned on IEM is that I feel there are more and more drivers being inserted in the housing. I wonder if its because headphiles have the tendency to think that more drivers "often" translated to better performance due to the trend in both universal and CIEM. (eg. Westone1, 2, 3, 4...). I guess I'm too much of a Final Audio Fan to pursue this. nevertheless, it's worth taking note of.

I'm not hopeful on the PHA-2. The DAC seems different (DSD compat), but the headamp chip is the same. I've heard that headamp chip before and it don't sound good. I have a PHA-1 here in front of me and I am afraid to listen to it.

Better bet is the Sony ZX1.

the PHA-1 was like.. well, that's that to me.
But honestly, I haven't come across that many good/expensive DACs to begin with.

I'm curios about the Fostex headphone. Fostex put out the TH900 then the 600 and I'm guessing they're going for a TH300. JH Audio's Roxanne has me curious although I don't think more drivers automatically equates to better sound. The bass boost feature has me intrigued though. Also looking forward to hearing some meet impressions on Schiit's yet to be released statement stuff and maybe something else they may have handy at the show. I'm hoping someone does some blogging on Sony. It's the first time they've ever attended CanJam and I'm hoping we find out more about products they may have in the works. Who knows maybe we'll get more info on their statement yet to be released MP3 player?

I'm slightly terrified to see what real Roxanne's look like out in the wild (not Jude's pair that was lovingly crafted by baby Jesus himself). I love my JH16 (the newer revision) quite a bit, but they're not the greatest build quality. The little ear tips look like someone went over them with some hard grit sandpaper, and their customer service was only really good when I had presales questions.

I have my doubts too but I don't think they're going to want to stir up even more crap with this chance with a new series... But then again... It is JHA we're talking about here.  facepalm
