Just found this thread, great comparison sheet! I wish I could afford some of those DACs!

Added for posterity.  Note, the DACs used in the spreadsheet were all powered on for a minimum 24 hours and some are followed by subjective impressions of sound changing over time which correlates to some of the following measured phenomena.

I have just read the entire thread maybe it's just me but first off I did not see the Hugo part nor could I find the chart talked about I the thread.
And lastly is my opinion on the hugo it simple plays PCM better than DSD. To me it shows the hugo was destined and voiced to do so.
I posted this in the headfi thread and rob watts responded he does not moline DSD he feels it's a waisted format. He akso does not line analog recordings made to DSD. He feels analog lacks details , dynamics and is bloated in the bass. I guess he has a cheap TT and cartridge. I then suggested open reels as being better than vinyl. He a said it's no better. I am minty I g to argue but this man designs the dacs we listen too is he doing this on purpose to create talk or is he really like this. He has made afew dacs for chord electronics and all but the Hugo no DSD. And he had to go back and modify them to play DSD and it create a new version.
It's painfully obvious to me he hates the format. I then posted if PCM is so good then why does not anyone make a DAC that plays it better than DSD. Right after that a few pages later the bread was locked and about 7 pages deleted.
Anyway I do find it interesting about the DSD to PCM comment
Please do not take my comments as offensive or argumentive I am just stating my view and or choice in this.
Also the woo wa 7 stinks as a DAC hahahaha

Hi Al, this is an old thread - one of the first when we started the DAC comparos. This thread is really superceded on the one of HF. So a lot of decent stuff like Hugo not in it.
