Trying to catch up with all the new stuff that's come out recently.

Deerhoof - Breakup Song


Animal Collective - Centipede Hz


Deerhoof is just as meh as Deerhoof Vs. Evil. WTF happened to them. The Animal Collective has lots going on. Doesn't sound anything like MPP, which may or may not be good news. Very gritty, dense and psychedelic, kind of a jumblefuck (which is the point), but also comes off unfocused (which I guess is also the point) and not too compelling after a couple of spins. Just feels... messy.

I guess a sort of Aussie indie band with retro flourishes. More on the fun than the pretentious side, thankfully.
