I'm currently listening to "Storm Corrosion" from...well, Storm Corrosion. Mikael Akerfelt of Opeth + Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree. Completely unlike either of their previous work and a quite strange album overall. Quite chill, yet dark and atmospheric. Sound quality isn't half bad either! I was very impressed, as the collector's edition I purchased came with a code that allowed me to download the entire album in 24-bit/96KHz FLAC!
(Apparently no one knows how to upload music to Youtube without making it sound awful)
And, being the huge Opeth fan that I am, I can't go a day without listening to them. I think their latest album, Heritage, is incredible. In my opinion, I think it's one of their bests. Akerfeldt is such a talented musician. Anyone that can go from progressive death metal to writing the music in Heritage without skipping a beat deserves some quality listening time.
That's by far the heaviest track on the album, which is a pretty stark contrast compared to their previous work. "Haxprocess" and "I Feel the Dark" are also great tracks. "Slither" is a tribute to Dio, and "The Lines in My Hand" is a fun track as well. Can't get enough of this album...
