Thanks DF.  Grabbed this after your post and listening to it now.

This is a good one!  I get this feeling that Florence is using the space together with her voice like an instrument.  Stunning.

I've always said she needs better recordings and this is at least a step in the right direction.  I think the MTV guys take capturing these unplugged sessions pretty seriously now.

Great album.

Every album from MTV Unplugged, Live At The BBC and Jools Holland series is on my short list actually. I just do not have the money for the time being. The Old Grey Whistle Test series should also be very good.

If it was not for MTV Unplugged I would have never given Nirvana a chance. There is fuzz and there is just noise and yes I actually like Gore and Bohren & Der Club Of Gore. After listening to Patti Smith's eerie "Smells Like Teen Spirit" cover I finally understood the dark humour of Kurt Cobain.

Jay Z sampled Nirvana by the way and as much as I understand the importance of sampling for Hip Hop, fuck him for doing that. Kanye West did the same thing with King Crimson. Yes I detest the brilliant Kanye West.

Either way, Florence Welch should make more live recordings. She takes risks when she sings and I love her for making adventurous music in every sense of the word.

John Peel sessions FTW!

Siouxsie And The Banshees - Israel & Arabian Knights

It's ironic to watch Siouxsie equivocate with the lyrics on Israel compared to Arabian Knights given her early dalliance with certain iconography.

How much more did I forget? When collecting the best James Brown recordings there were so many festival, bootleg and official live recordings I just gave up. I bought the best ones for the best affordable prices, bought the original studio recording compilations and stopped right there.

I enjoyed the hunt though. Hours of delight followed.

Got this game's soundtrack (with the game, of course) during Steam Summer Sale.
Really loving it.
