Neil Young - A letter Home

I really like this album. It's kinda like it was recorded with a sepia filter or something. Reminiscent of an old classic blues record. I don't think I would like it as much if it were recorded with fidelity in mind. The medium is definitely an integral part of the music. If you're wondering, it does stands up well to revealing gear unlike so many recent compressed recordings.

It's the distilled essence of a few great songs. In particular, he redefines "If You Could Read My Mind" by Gordon Lightfoot for me.

It's reminds me a little of what Johnny Cash did with NIN's Hurt. Speaking of:

The only detraction from the album were the Willie Nelson covers. Otherwise it's really a gem.
