It's been a long time, but I decided to listen to Nine Inch Nails "The Downward Spiral". Back then when I was in high school I didn't realize how good the recordings actually were. Not a huge fan of the album, some songs are alright, but they did a some good recording and mixing work on the album.

In 2011 I ripped the CD to put the tracks in the fibonacci order. Still a good album...

Was that the order named the Holy Gift? Which I made as a playlist of also...

Parabol
Parabola
Schism
Ticks & Leeches
Mantra
Lateralus
Faaip De Oaid
The Grudge
Triad
Eon Blue Apocalypse
Reflection
The Patient
Disposition

Great Posts Deep Funk and 6. Question for ya. on the track Lateralus, there's a verse Maynard sings that says "As below so above..." Any theories as to why he said that quote backwards? I mean I've been a fan of Tool since the early 90's so I have a pretty good idea of how Tool works...how genius lyrically they can be and also symbolic, and often times downright hilarious (on purpose). I have dissected all of their songs as I am sure most dedicated Tool fans have, but that line kinda has me stumped as to why he would say that backwards. Any thoughts? I'm not at 46 + 2 yet so my feeble mind can't figure it out (still 44 +2 here)

The problem with Tool is a simple one. When I am in the right mood I will listen. Tool gets me but the my first listens of the album Lateralus gave me the impression that the band was insanely confusing in sound. I gave the album a second chance and I appreciate Tool now much more.

As my album pick for now indicates, no Tool for now. As for James Maynard Keenan's cryptic lyrics, I am never quite sure what to think of them. Maybe I will never find out while I still enjoy the music.

<Gorillaz Singles Collection>
Great compilation  :)p7
:)p5

Currently listening to:

Which honestly sounds more Radiohead than recent Radiohead. Much more pleasing than In Rainbows at least.

SoupRKnowva. If you have some form of waveform editor I recommend trimming some of the silences off the tracks. The main offender is Triad

Although I did trim a little off Schism and Tick and Leeches. It tightens the whole thing up

@Game I haven't got a Scooby what he's on about. I suppose that's half the attraction. A bit of opacity.

Edit: Ideally one would put each song on a track of a DAW. Then one could mix the whole album as a continuous track. LFF has probably done it already.

I consider this album as one of their best.

6, is this action Blur's middle finger to the record industry?

After reading a recent article it seems to me that Damon Albarn has got to the position where he can and has allowed himself to move on to new things and not cling on to the past. Giving away part of your back catalogue seems like an expression of that. Trent Reznor and Thom Yorke have done similar things, Lars Ulrich et al have not.
