Imagine Dragons - Night Visions.

I don't know if they damaged it with distortion on purpose or if they're deaf. The cleanliness of the rest of it tells me that they're making or chasing a fad. Then again, it may just be Spotify destroying it. I'll have to listen somewhere else to see.

[checking Amazon and Rhapsody]

Yeah... it's the recording. Spotify's quality makes it more apparent but they trashed the kick drum and a few other bits.

Neat fact: they're from the place me and my wife lived when we got married.

The soft fuzzy kick drum and less defined percussion sound was intentional?

I thought it was the compression of the codec and possibly Youtube.

That is a shame...

P.S. A bit of fuzz/distortion can be very nice. When the drums and guitar parts sound meh though I tend to press stop and ignore the album for the rest of its existence.

Call me entry level but I'm "rediscovering" classical/orchestral music. I forgot how moving and engaging listening to entire symphonies was.

It's an album I enjoy from a musical perspective, but I simply can't listen to it, unfortunately. The distortion is just terrible, and I do have the CD. Radioactive, in particular, gives me ear cringes that last many minutes. I wish I had a vinyl rip, so I could enjoy it.

A favourite, gets better every listen.

Anaxilus, good choice. James Brown was the man and the JB's were the best Funk band in the world. Of course I am heavily biased by the fact James Brown's music made me a serious collector and listener. "I know you got soul!"

Good film, much recommended if you like the understated English detective/thriller.
