Nice!  Have you seen them live?  I've caught their Bob Marley Bday tribute a couple times.  Probably the best Bob Marley covers I've ever heard.

sadly i haven't.  getting out to shows has been difficult the past few years with kids and the work schedule.  i'll miss Lambchop this week as well.  their latest album is stellar and getting some Pirate love here as well.

"Could you be loved" & "Jamming". Some of my Bob Marley favorites. Nice lows, laid back.

i just love "what are you listening to now" threads.  i get up-hipped by hipper music lovers than myself, discovering more music i had no idea existed.  ye swashbucklin' Pirates have good tastes.  with the slow death of brick and mortar music stores, these threads/forums are becoming more and more important.

since getting my modding Fostex to sound good (there's still room for improvement) and acquiring the AT AD2000, i've wanted to cut back on the DIY and actively listening to music again (and watch more Star Trek and anime).

i used to be an ECM label junkie.  this 3 disc compilation is desert island fo' shure.  maybe the greatest jazz trio of all time...if you can get past KJ's moaning.  for me, his "vocals" are just another musical instrument - they gel.  as a former aspiring double bassist, Gary Peacock is a lyrical monster.  Jack DeJohnette is subtle but hypnotic.

and on deck before bed time...

In their time, the following were real Latinamerican hits. They resonate in yours truly as they bring back some good 'ol memories :)

Mana is a Mexican (Guadalajara state) group. "Rayando el Sol" (mid-80's) is my favorite in Mana's repertoire. Carlos Vives is a Colombian singer and his mid '90s interpretation of the Colombian vallenato "La Gota Fria" became an instant super hit in whole Latinamerica.

O....M...G! Thanks for bringing back some good memories. Got me listening to some old latin hits...

I haven't heard those songs in ages. La Gota Fria was a huge hit and remember listening to it all the time.

Thanks to those, I looked up these goodies too:

Ricardo Arjona - Jesus Verbo No Sustansivo

Ricardo Arjona - Desnuda

Kjarkas--"LLorando Se Fue" Live  -> A HUGE hit a long time ago when I was a kid....some real artists here....

Cafe Tacuba - Como Te Extraño

Joaquin Sabina - Contigo
