I'm with everyone on the Daft Punk album, it's so... meh. Not terrible or offensive (unless you consider being so inoffensive as offensive), but it's not very compelling either. It's cool background music, but doesn't offer much to chew on with active listening.

Been excited about this one. Hoping it lives up to the hype.

The new Queens is good, but far from great.  Streaming it today didn't convince me to buy.  I'll give it a few more tries.  Generally it just lacked any kind of energy or dynamic to get me hooked.  It felt a bit forced and by the numbers or formulaic.  YMMV.

After listening to the new Daft Punk album (which I'm returning) I need to purge...to dance, well at least nod my head appreciatively

Thank heavens there are others who dont like RAM. I almost got crucified for saying that on the other site.

I was a big Daft Punk fan back in the day. I saw them live in 1997. The thing is, like many 'producers' give them a bunch of musicians, pick up an instrument and just jam, write a song, they're lost. Technically I can't really fault it. But the same went for Yngwie Malmsteen. All technique, no soul.

Same here. Good to have a very special disk to rescue me from the scalding heat of summer!

Their early stuff had some bite, it was a ridiculously awesome pretense-free foil to the big beat of the era. I've liked them all through to Human After All. Seeing their set at the 2006 Coachella was one of my favorite show moments http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPsmCxIdrCY. That said, I'm going to have to take a seat on the hate train. RAM wasn't awful, but it was disappointingly mediocre.

I don't mind the new QOTSA though.

An odd album, fascinating in its own way...
