Rosanne Cash- "The List"
This album actually makes me angry. I honestly think p.diddy could sing country songs with more soul than this. At least he'd be able to relate to the parts about difficulties and challenges and longing, etc and maybe that would come across as some small sense of being real or genuine. Rosanne is just trying to sing in a pretty voice and it's painfully clear that she's never experienced a word of what she's singing and maybe doesn't even know what words are coming out of her mouth. Hearing her sing about heartache makes me wonder if she's ever loved someone. Hearing her sing about being far from home makes me wonder if she's ever left her home. They're just meaningless words glossed over with high tech studio equipment.
It's like the country equivalent of a pampered white boy trying to rap.
