It's damaging for us that the only Frogbeats CIEM thread on HeadFi has now been locked and it looks like a total shambles.

Firstly, I feel (as, clearly, do some other H-F'ers) that the heavy-handed final posts in that H-F thread reflect far more badly upon the mods than they do upon you or your company.

I sympathise at your exasperation, but we both know there is a legitimate space, and demand, for your services within the UK marketplace and I am confident that if your products perform well in comparison to your global competitors', all will work out fine as time goes by.

Therefore, although I appreciate that it's easy for me to say this, I would suggest to you that you simply let go of that exasperation, instead concentrating your positive focus and energies on producing top-quality CIEMs, and know that you cannot help but meet with success if you sincerely meet the requirements of the audiophile community.

The discerning customers that you have set-up in business specifically to serve desire a quality product above all other considerations and are quite able to read between the lines of overbearing moderators with their own, shall we say, 'agendas'   :-)

2. We offer clear shells as an additional "out of menu" option. The reason for this is that getting clear shells properly done without a tinge or yellow etc is a much more complex process than basic colour mixing. We do offer them, they just cost more than the selection of colours we offer. It takes longer to do and so we can't offer it as a basic option.
+
For all clear shells it's an additional $60 on top of the basic configuration.

So if I was willing to accept a very mild blue or smoke tint, would that solve the issue and avoid me having to pay the full premium for transparency?

3. We mean B). I wish I could supply an image of it, but we haven't had any build requests for them that have been completed just yet. Hopefully we'll have a clear image of them within the next few weeks.

I'm not entirely convinced that we're meaning the same thing here. I was questioning whether you meant the plastic tubing component being transparent or coloured. When I say 'component', I mean to say that many CIEM makers (e.g. Unique Melody) use a discreet piece of plastic tubing which is mated to the nozzle on the case of the balanced armature and then fed out through the nozzle of the overall acrylic CIEM shell, being terminated flush with the canal tip of the acrylic CIEM shell.

If I'm understanding you correctly (and I realise I may not be), I'm thinking you may have interpreted me differently to mean the canal portion of the CIEM shell.

No matter, I clearly understood all your other answers to my questions, so this will fall into place soon.

5. Do you mean the bottom part of the CIEM being clear or the inner canals as you pointed out above? If you are referring to coloured canals like so:
http://www.heiraudio.com/images/example/ColorCanal2.jpg

Then yes, we offer that. I will add that to the options today.

The Heir image is exactly what I meant, yes.

Thanks for your answers.

I wonder if its possible for LFF to move or duplicate his review to this site and link the review in from the Frogbeats website, Im not a huge fan of head-fi, they pretty much do what they like in regards to protecting their sponsors even if a product has the potential to damage headphone drivers.

Thumbs-up from me; that's a great idea, provided LFF is willing.

Maybe he could post a comment saying that the re-up will not involve any breach of the stupid ToS', just to appease the Head-fi mods or something.

Oh man...  facepalm

Also what's the word on recessed sockets? I couldn't really tell from David's response... Is that a yes or a no?

Don't recall if I read it here or on H-F but David was very emphatic that recessed sockets are not an option at the current time.

So, joking aside, how's about duping your H-F review here in this thread, LFF?

Kirosia is very interested, though will wait til pricing and such is worked out. There is a Sensaphonic approved audiologist in Boston supposedly, he worries the trek due to chance of death by clown. He hopes if all goes well, the CIEMs will last him until the biblical end of days.

@ HeadfiSchmedfi - Fixed the problem you highlighted.

Recessed sockets are not an option and will not be for the foreseeable future.

Firstly, I feel (as, clearly, do some other H-F'ers) that the heavy-handed final posts in that H-F thread reflect far more badly upon the mods than they do upon you or your company.

I do agree with that, however it's poor that of some simple disagreements a healthy thread that was generating a lot of interest has needed to be shut down. It's also annoying that now that it's closed and the moderators feel there's no need for further contact, you get no more PMs from them. There was some sort of justification that HeadFi does help small companies, but they're completely selective about it. Anywho, moving on from this.

I sympathise at your exasperation, but we both know there is a legitimate space, and demand, for your services within the UK marketplace and I am confident that if your products perform well in comparison to your global competitors', all will work out fine as time goes by.
Absolutely, however it makes our jobs much harder (and more expensive) if there's no healthy thread for discussion on HeadFi about it. Just a step backward in my eyes.

That's what we're hoping to achieve! Only 2 customers have received their CIEMs as of yet, but we've got 3 more rush orders just now and there should be more chatter about them soon.

So if I was willing to accept a very mild blue or smoke tint, would that solve the issue and avoid me having to pay the full premium for transparency?
Unfortunately it's still an extra cost to us because we don't do this one often. However I'd be happy to looking to reduce the clear shells cost to half if demand was high enough for them (which it might be looking as it is).

I'm not entirely convinced that we're meaning the same thing here...
I'm not entirely sure what's being referred to here either. Are we talking about clear canals?
http://www.heiraudio.com/images/example/ClearCanal2.jpg Like so?

We're thinking that instead of a Group Buy to do a limited number sale for the C4 - doing this makes it easier for us to manage and for you guys to pay. What do you think about it? It's essentially the same offer as a group buy but it just means that each order goes through individually for it. The planned discount would be the same of course.
