Back to transformer coupled outputs for a sec: would the spec requirements of slapping a transformer on a dac output be less stringent than for an amp since it doesn't have as much current to contend with?

I've been idly looking at some proaudio DI boxes for miscellaneous use, and there are many options there that seem capable.

Radial is a well regarded name in the DI world. Maybe something like this? http://radialeng.com/jdistereo.php

Do you think there may be an acoustic leak from the jack hole? ~Tyll Hertsens

Not sure if I like stuffing one hole or both holes. Tending toward one hole since both holes seems kinda ghey ~Purrin

yes. Much easier to make and get them to perform much better.

Please provide your insights about the differences between balanced vs single ended headphone/amp/DAC, both objective and subjective differences...perhaps this topic has been discussed to death in various forums but its difficult to form an opinion as to which is better or worse..

also, never hurts to rehearse basics about balanced - like here http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=214470
