Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Good to be here : )

Special thanks to Ultrabike for bringing me a sandwich during the LA meetup this March. Would have died otherwise.

Now to figure out this karma business... Danny is beating me by 750+ and that simply won't do  :)p17

Ultrabike, what does it feel like to be considered a "Mexican Ewok". Do you eat Americans and Mexicans or just Americans?

Also, when did Ewoks come to earth? I have never met a Dutch Ewok...

It's time I stop being a lurking lubber and try to contribute to this crew.

Why am I here?
I'd like to learn more about audio from a different perspective. Ed introduced me to the site. Yeah Ed, I just called you out  ;D. I've also had the chance to speak with a few of the members here at the SoCal meets. I had lunch with Ed and Gilbert, and was able vent over biology-related school topics with Luis at this past meet.

Learning is a big part of who I am, and wanting to know how to do everything seems to be part of that.
Some examples of my hobbies: Building computers, lock picking, building cables, teaching my twin girls biology vocabulary , guns and reloading, reading, etc.
If anyone is looking to build a cable, shoot me a PM. I consider it a symbiotic relationship: You only have to pay for the materials, and I get to try those new materials on your dime.  ;D.

I've been wrong in the past. I'll be wrong in the future. It's possible that something will push my red button and you'll know.
If those things happen, I apologize in advance and promise to try and fix them after I cool down.

Hope to get to know many of you and contribute where I can. In case you can decide which syllable you want to accent in Kamaka, you can just call me Eric.

Hi Kamaha!

It might be easier to use handle names as not everyone knows everyone else's first names.  Also, if anyone wants a cable done, I can vouch for Kamaha's work. He did a great job on the HE 560 cable that I now use. Anyway, enjoy the site, and and don't be afraid to comment or ask questions. The pirates are a knowledgeable but friendly bunch. And maybe someday you'll move up from swabbie.   :)p7

Hi Everyone.

Yet another new swabbie here. I got into headphones a little over a year ago when I moved in to an apartment and needed a quiet way to listen to music late in to the night. I do a lot of film photography, so I tend to be developing film, scanning, and working in photoshop - all of which are far more satisfying with music.

Headphones have been a revelation, and supremely enjoyable. I know it's rather cliche, but I've experienced something of a personal music renaissance over the past year. I've owned a few different amps thus far, and am currently running Woo Audio WA7 with the tube PSU and fully upgraded tubes (the internal DAC sucks, so I use it with a Gungnir/Wyrd). Yeah, I've already read this amp qualifies as "limp dick" - so I'm quite aware of my failings. I think my headphone choices have been better thus far, as I currently own the HD800 (anax 2 modded), LCD-2F (dampening mod), and the rather ubiquitous but excellent HD600. Anyhow, I'm currently on a quest to create a reference level rig and move away from the mid-fi gear. I originally found Changstar through some searches, and have been lurking for some time. It's been great to find more qualified information/data without all of the B.S.

As a n00b, I've started attending meets, as I need to further build my understanding of what I'm after and to further discover what my personal preferences are. I suspect I won't be posting a ton, given my relative lack of knowledge, but I look forward to continue reading and learning.
