I've been a long time Onitsuka Tiger fan as well - although sadly my favorites, the "tai chi" appear to have been recently discontinued.  Have gone through multiple pairs over the last ten years and probably would have continued to rebuy them for the indefinite future.  Classic low profile design with a super thin sole and nice wide toe box.  Next best thing to being without shoes.



My latest casual shoe buy was a pair of sanuk knock outs.  Another nice low profile design, but these guys have insoles made out of yoga mats and breathe wonderfully through the cloth uppers.  No socks required.  Super comfortable.

You really need to try Nike Flyknits (4.0 or 3.0), even if just for a while at a store. That's really the closest to "shoeless" I've ever felt.

Those look pretty nice.  I have a pair of Nike free 2.0's and a far thinner pair of New Balance minimus MR00's, which have vibram treads and a much lighter/more comfortable upper than the Frees.  I'll take a look at Flyknits when it is time to replace the MR00's though.  That said, the Tai Chi's had the thinnest sole of the lot.  There is no foam or padding at all.  Just that super thin soft gum sole that you couldn't help but wear through eventually.
