fluid dynamics..... the stuff of nightmares. I quit that track well before then. More fun to brute force the calcs and have a computer do the simulations.

OMG, you are such an unromantic Comp Sci/EE dweeb. Fluid dynamics is poetry in motion where science and art converge. Frikin' heathen.

You also really really do not want to do these sorts of calculations. Seriously, this coming from a guy who's undergrad degree ostentatiously has the word "aerospace" in it.

Yup, and the smaller the scale gets the worse everything gets with accuracy.

The fluids courses were always the "make or break" courses each year. Then silly me took aerodynamics as my electives...

There's a whole chapter on "swirly stuff that we don't fully understand, but if you just kinda swish your fingers around all make believe, you'll be kinda right most of the time".

I was already broken when introduced to non-linear differential equations toward the end of my first differential equations class. Moved to numerical analysis.

Right, no confidence in Audeze, Hifiman in producing those diaphragm with great level of consistency yet for me. Also, I feel your pain with fluids.

I really wanted Audeze's EL8 to be good, but it turned out to be a stinker.

Is he that bad? I haven't really spoken much with the guy, but he's always been straight forward with me, and we mutually kicked around that robrob guy for a while.

Agreed. Well... I don't think EL-8 open was that bad, but the closed one was especially bad.

That aside, thread exploded! Oh em gee!

So I should pose a question myself, cuz I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this: how does bass ports work from a physics standpoint? (I can foresee another "fluid dynamics sux" answer, but I'm still curious how it's going to be mentioned)
