Pretty much. I lurked for awhile, made a negative comment about Steve Guttenberg, and was banned so I left. Basically it went like this - me: "Steve Guttenberg is basically a joke". Someone: "Fuck you, Steve Guttenberg is a GOD among men! Headphones wouldn't exist without him! Ban that guy". Consensus: "Guttenberg IS kind of a joke, but fuck that guy anyway he's new and not entitled to an opinion. Ban him". The end.

I sold Voltron his first pair of headphones on Head-fi.  We met outside Guitar Center in SF and did the exchange in the car like a shady arms deal.  I've hung out with him at a number of meets since then, been to both his homes.  He's actually a pretty kind soft spoken guy at least to me in person.  I think it's just the HC group think talking.  Not saying that makes it ok, but it is kind of interesting.  I imagine almost everyone prominent on a headphone forum is actually pretty mild mannered in real life.  Except for Mike and Purrin, they will blow your shit up.  :p j/k
