I made it through the first episode with some difficulty: I don't know if it's true that our society has already given up on trying to halfway decent but if it is true, I had rather not think about it.

Oh, I had to try three times to get through the first episode. The first half was not my sort of thing at all with a bunch of pretentious drunk yuppie wankers having an adolescent level conversation at the dinner table.

Watch the White Bear episode if you get a chance.

I'm currently waiting for the new season of Orphan Black. I love that show and binge watched all of it in two days last week. I'm going to have to re-watch the first two seasons in case I missed any subtle plot details in my continuous hours of watching :P.

Just started watching this myself. Pretty enjoyable! But also one of those shows where it would seem many of the problems the characters face could be resolved much faster, and in a better way for all, if they simply communicated with each other, the police, lawyers, etc. in a better way or, you know, at all. Too many stupid things done because someone is trying to do things behind the scenes, solve things themselves, etc.

Not that this makes it a bad show by any means! Otherwise I wouldn't be enjoying it.

Masterchef Aussie season 6 finale. Normally the judges will do a bit of nudging if a contestant has made/is making a mistake during a cook, but in the very last round of the finale, they both hint at the (large) mistake and then go out of their way to tell the contestant. This is is just unfair. It's the deciding round for the entire competition, and if someone is too thick to realize they stuffed up, they should be allowed to drown.

Argh! I'm still watching it, and that same contestant makes another damned mistake and the judges... I know these shows are partly staged, with certain contestants being favored over others and the like, but at least try to be subtle.

Well I tried streaming Eurovision for a while this afternoon. It was like the AKG K701. OK at first then your ears start to tighten, then your turning down the volume. Finally you pull them off and the relief is unbelievable.   :)p8

This season of American Dad started off pretty shit, but it gets its groove back around episode six and stays with it.

Season 4 of Veep. Last night's episode. SPOILERS - They're doing the "hearing" schtick from the last season of The Thick of It.

I like Veep. It's a good show. Not as entertaining as The Thick of It, but more... level. Fewer ups and downs (to both its benefit and detriment), and nowhere near as vulgar language-wise. It's safe. Relatively.

Julia Child making French style omelets of all kinds. Did you know with two pans going you could feed a party of 60 people in 30 minutes? I'm waiting to see if she kills one of the stagehands.  p:8

"Nashville" and "Mad Men." And sports.

And "Tyrant," which is coming back for season two starting next week. Cannot wait to see how Barry gets out from in front of the firing squad.
