LOL! WTF! 1200 ohms! There goes anything USB powered unless cans are somehow uber-efficient.

Yeah I think it's a typo or whatnot. It seems this new prototype is competing with the Abyss but who knows.

On the other hand, seems Oppo is ready to make a new release sometime soon as well, the PM-3:

Seems a lot of companies are revealing soon to be released stuff at Canjam.

The voltage sensitivity will tell us how hard to drive it actually is. If it can indeed be driven by conventional headphone amps on the market, we can presume Audeze has found a way to make their headphones a lot more efficient (in terms of actual power dissipated).

I'm no fan of the carbon fibre headband unless it has a flexible strip of metal within the carbon itself. I've witnessed first hand sight of a Qualia band snapping near the side slider. Not pretty.

That's why you use Kevlar in the composite.  Flexibility and strength.  Funny that Sony missed out on that but not surprising.  I guess no one at Sony was into racing.

I remember a story a long long time ago about some Japanese company buying a US golf club manufacturer to learn how to make graphite and carbon/kevlar composites.

Odds of Audeze only using wet carbon and having issues?  Pretty high based on history.  Are we sure it's not even a CF veneer or applique?

Not a typo, was talking to Tony and he repeated 1200 ohms after I gave him a puzzled look. The box they had amping it was ridiculously huge.

Yep. Though personally I'm all for it, as suspension bands are the most comfortable in my experience. I could wear my YH-1 for hours.

The OTL driveability makes it interesting for speaker afficionados with OTL amps that want some nice cans. No more need to think of getting a dedicated headphone amp
