Those are some pretty good initial impressions. If it's better than my Krell, I'd be saving a lot of money. But could be different for HE-6.

You should be listening to the Rag with the HE 6 ! And then tell me if I need an integrated  :)p1

Gungnir should be fine. The HD800 should work better with Rag than Mojo.

That seals the deal. Get the Rag now, get the Yggy early next year when I've raised the cash..

Just want to be clear. The sound is different from the DNA Stratus - but they are both just as good in their own right.

As I said Elsewhere I think I'm done for my current system with the Sonett & Octave.  My Music sounds as i've always want to and I've no more place on my desktop. I' m more in headphones and gear reviewing for a french website. I'm new in the business, my systeme grew up too quickly and i've not IMO enough knowledge of  the whole market to go directly to the expensive TOTL gear.

Right now, I'm planning the long term future when I'll have enough space to have a real audio room with speakers and headphone and a confortable chair designed by Eames and  a fireplace for cold winters and a large  window to see the country while I'm listening to music. You see the pic ?

So that why I'm lurking around the Rag & Yggy combo. What I see in my dreams is the Yggy+Rag+ TOTL amp+headphone combo ( for my tastes HD800 or stax based .. Maybe HE-6 ..didn't try it yet) . Maybe i'm wrong but SCHIIT seems to change the Market with extremely valuable products wihtout all those bullshits we're used to see or there in audio. For me , they're fighting against obscurantism in audio. I'm exagerrate but you see the point.

It's time to save money  for me.

You're obligated to wait til Clemmaster post his impressions. He's a fellow HE-6 guru as you know and we have heard each others gear. We would be able to gauge how well the Rag performs with HE-6. Everything Marv has posted makes it seem like an extremely promising amp though.

Definitely don't wanna sound overly skeptical... But I remember a similar 'game changer' hype with Mjolnir... Only to see the majority of people buy it and sell after some time to move on. Similar happened with Lyr 1 as well I think. I am not really convinced that Mjolnir or Lyr 1 changed something in the end...

Thanks for the posts, Marv. Very exciting stuff. Of course there will be some (relatively minor) further bug-stomping/tweaking given that it's a beta. And yes, we'll have to see what the impressions are when dozens of people have the final retail version. Still promising. I can't wait to hear how it deals with the HE-6 and other phones that will take all the power you can give em.

I don't think the hype was created anywhere on CS. If you are referring to HF then you may include anything from 25$ Fiio E6 to 10k$ XYZ....

I powered mine up yesterday evening. After a couple of hours to warm up, I started my listening with the HE-560's. Damn. Clarity, smooth, detail, slam. Ok - it'll be great with Ortho's. Plugged in my T90's. Wow - these cans have always needed an OTL to sound their best - not any longer. After a bit of listening with the T90's, I plugged in the much maligned K812's. Nice. It drives them with authority, and the smooth delivery seems to help with the high frequency delivery.

Much more listening to do, but can't tell you how exciting it would be to have a single end game amp that can drive most everything well. Just for laughs I will plug in my UERM's later :-)
