really cool. can't wait to hear more about the Oppo. these kind of meets I wish I could go to some time. awesome stuff. especially with all the DACs.
also very much looking forward to more of the DAC-off stuff.

DSP sounds really cool, can anyone explain a bit further how that stuff works? what it does to the sound etc? I'm not sure I understand.

(also purrin, sous-vide is too trendy to judge everyone who does it! some do it right, most don't - IME! :p it's a lot better for the tough stuff like pork belly and short ribs... anyway!)

thanks for sharing & great pictures.

It looks like an amazing time! Sorry I couldn't be there, but it's been a crazy month--and I know some of you would like to see Ragnarok and Yggdrasil released at some point!

haha. That's actually what I was thinking. There's the practice of boiling ribs before putting it on the fire. Sous-vide on the ribs for 24 hours before finishing off the ribs on the flaming coals would be ideal for keeping the flavor in. I hate to see the flavor leach out of the ribs with boiling.

On the other hand, one could do the same with putting the ribs in a dutch oven at low temp for an extended period of time. I guess I'm too old school. I learned a lot about cooking from my grandmother and my mother. I'm sure my grandmother would go WTF with this sous-vide technique and beat me with chopsticks if she ever saw me doing it.

And yes, I did make some sous-vide chicken breast finished off in an iron skillet. Guess what, I prefer my broiled version better. Just as juicy but better more intense flavor.

yeah. sorry most of you missed it because it was on Friday.

Lets do something a little bit bigger than a micro-meet. Maybe a mini-meet right the day after the big OC meet? We can get a hotel room and house 20 people.

I really liked n3rdling's Aristaeus with the SR009. A very good match. The bass actually becomes a bit thick, maybe too much so. He also brought he SR-Omegas which remain one of my favorites from STAX. I'm just not too enamored with the SR-009 still. I think the Aristaeus is probably my favorite HeadAmp. I wish Justin would make more of these things because they are a better match with the SR-009 than the BHSE.

i do still build it. theres about 10 unsold units right now. i just need to get the PCBs assembled but its not a priority with the BHSEs and GS-X mk2s to build. Nobody buys it though, maybe the occasional person who ends up with a used HE-90

Short ribs?!  I'll die before I eat sous-vide short ribs.  That's sacrilege!  Pretty sure you just pissed off most of Asia and S. America. ;P

Yeah, a bad one, kind of like driving while texting.

Dreadful that I recently got my first, "legitimate" job so I couldn't go. Would definitely look forward to being able to make the next micro or mini meet. Please schedule for a Sunday! Doesn't seem like most of you are church goers anyway  ;)

Let's schedule a meet in the middle of the night (Thu, Fri, and Sat morning until no later than 10AM) so I can attend. :)p1
