What I had to drink last night and this morning
« on: February 04, 2012, 07:12:39 PM »

What I drank last night and this morning.

Vodka was just chilled with a slice of lime. I really do think that the Russians get the "Gold" version as standard over there.
Scotch didn't need to be watered down. This is good stuff you can just sniff.

Last nite.  Not as great as the reviews led me to believe but pretty smooth and unoffensive.  Just not brilliant compared to other stuff I'm more used to.  Zero complexity.  Must be the diamond filtration.   :P

Having this atm.  Very rich and full, complex and sweet.  Washing it down w/ Mrs. Fields White Chocolate and Macadamia nut cookies to cut through the beer.

Ohh, nice thread.

I always have a bottle of this at my house:

I haven't tried a whole lot of Scotch (just the big name ones -- Johnnie Walker, Glenvilet, Glenfiddich), but of them I prefer the smoothness of Macallan the most. My friend has been recommending Highland Park. I'll take a look to see if our local shop has that Springbank as well.

I'll bring the SpringBank to my station at the NorCal meet.

Now that's what I'm talking about. I'll bring a bottle of something too, and we can have a small liquor sub-meet. Every system in there will sound good by 2pm.

This thread inspired me to stop by my local wine shop. The guys there recommended this bottle --

I'm liking it. It's on the sweeter side, but just spicy enough -- and really smooth.

Digging the scotch choices, though I'm an Islay fan. Currently have a Caol Ila 12.
