I listened to the Magni/Modi combo for the first time (w/UERM), and told Jason "you just simplified my Christmas shopping; my kid will love these." They really are extraordinary for the price.
WA7 wins my prize for best-looking unit at the meet. It was obviously designed to look great next to a MacBook, and by that criterion it is a complete success. Listened with HD 800, and found it to be ... undistinguished. Doesn't do anything obviously wrong, but also doesn't do anything to make you say "yeah, this sucker is good." I wouldn't trade it for my Concero/Gilmore Lite combo.
Mytek/Studio Six combo was very pleasant to listen to, but there's no way they are a good value at $6,500 for the pair. You'd be happier with a Hilo, a $2k vinyl rig, and $2k to spend on records.
Couldn't get near the GS-X, which is probably just as well since I don't have $2,500 to spend right now. Was always a big crowd at Justin's table. You could tell that the EC/Head-Amp/DNA room was the "tube room;" it was five degrees warmer than the other rooms.
Bummed that I didn't get to hear the L-2.
Happy I was able to give so many people their first chance to hear the Hilo and the TH 600.
The only real problem with this meet, which is a nice problem to have, I guess, is that it was really crowded.
Warren and Ethan did a great job.
