When you open iTunes today, you'll be prompted to update to the new version.
Based on what I've read so far this morning, I'm not doing it. Over at AA, Pure Music users are reporting significant compatibility issues, especially with memory play. As I run Amarra in cache mode, that's worrisome. There's also a list up at cnet of features that have disappeared.
If any of y'all take the plunge, please report your findings.

Updated a few days ago and use it with Audirvana. So far no issues.

Last I checked, even with the update PureMusic was still not working with memory mode.
That was just a few days ago. I am away now so I can't check.
Btw, so far I am not a fan of the iTunes layout. I am sure ill get used to it eventually.

Uninstall should resolve most of these issues adequately.

But then how would a fan boy listen to music?

I think they're going to slowly veer off course without Stevesie. The new OSX was nothing but a bunch of annoying features and password protocols.
From the images, it doesn't look like a workable interface for large libraries. I like the column browser so I can at least break things into some silly genres to make the list smaller. This new interface looks like it was designed for people with 100 albums (which is how they display it on the website).

Was not using anything else than lists in the past version but, truly, the new interface is compelling to use. Currently, I am using the browser view pane on the left (hidden by default) and grid view for the main pane and like to browse various playlist by albums, expand anyone and queue up a song or the whole album.
Audirvana+ works flawlessly with itunes'11 on my 11'MBP and it has completely replaced Pure Music (it does integer mode for one).

the lack of foobar2k on the Mac is certainly the system's biggest flaw.
