I got to spend some time with the Beats Studios... Are they perfect? Nope. But IMO these don't suck (the Solos might tho). These cans have good punch and sparkle to them. While these are not neutral (there is an evident hollow effect due to a mids suck out), the overall balance is.
It is fairly easy for me to adjust to the signature of these phones, to the point that the hollow effect stops bothering me. They are not fatiguing. The bass goes deep, relatively clean, and has good impact.
I also noticed that the pads for these are not fully leathery type material. Internally the pad is made of some cloth type material. I find them fairly comfy.
Yup, don't like the price.
I measured these at 90 dBSPL with white noise instead of @ 1 kHz since these drop quite a bit at that particular frequency. Here are some results (Some issues getting ARTA to display appropriate SPL on FR y-axis - off by about 10 dB):

HP50's reminded him a bit of the Beats Studio... Here is the FR comparo (HP50's are 90dBSPL @ 1kHz / Studio are 90dBSPL White Noise):
To me the main difference was a little more hollowness on the Studios, but less bright. Good bass impact on both.
