So Rich sent these for a listen and checkup. These are my impressions:

These are a little lean. But then I do tend to like IEMs that others consider bassy. I was honestly expecting quite a bit worse given what I've heard about them. I was expecting an analog phone line. These are not that bad, but they do lack dynamics, and have a somewhat recessed/weird mid-range. I feel there is some glare to these as well. Channel balance seems off in this particular set. Again, to me bass does not satisfy, but others might disagree.

Versus the Tenores, I definitively prefer the Tenores which have more impact and IMO much better mid range.

Anyhow. Here are some measurements.

I did measure the Tenores that Rich send along with these and they measured very close to the Tenores that I measured in the past.

The channel balance might be a defect of this particular set.

Lean?!?!  :-00
Play around with the seal a bit. A loose seal certainly reduces much of the bass but a full seal is over the top.  The only iem I have ever heard that was bassier was the brand TFTA  poo

I dunno guys. I think the Tenores are more warm, and are more dynamic and detailed while at it.

Maybe there is product variation? Will remeasure.

UB has very unique ear canals. Puts Astralstorm's to shame.

Yup. Got some pretty wide and deep canals. If I ever find an IEM that is uber-bassy, it will likely blow most peoples minds.

So more measurements again (many times). Note that the comparison is against two different Tenore IEMs so some slight variation might be expected. Driver matching is much superior in the Tenores vs the Verb. Be careful about interpreting stuff past 8 or 9 kHz with these measurements.



It's all relative. Like I said, to me indeed the Tenores have more heft than the Verb. However, the Verb is not super lean, but is relatively lean vs the Tenores (IMO, not just measurements.) If one likes the Tenores, the Verb is likely not going to cut it. Mostly cuz of the mids.

Those look like they're not sealing at all.  Do you have any other tips to try besides the stock?

Yeah my Verb has like 20 db's of bass boost and nose dive nearly -20 db's to 3k. So essential it sounds like 40 db's of boost! My Tenore sounds like about 6db's of deep bass boost and has a small peak around 2k or so before shelving the treble down.

Thanks for taking the measurements!

The results are pretty surprising. I definitely heard more bass out of the Verbs vs the Tenore.

I also agree that the Tenores are the better sounding pair for the sub-$50 price point. Now if you consider the LH Verb Amazon price point of $85, or the original msrp of $149....   :-00
