Sound

I really dig these. A bit warm and perhaps on the bassy side of things, but less so than the JVC explosives. Perhaps close to what I hear from the Philips SHE3590. However, it's less edgy and easier on the ears for long term listening. Not fatiguing. I like the detail extraction in the bass area. I like these better than most of the universal IEMs I've heard so far.

Comfort

Though pretty large, these fit me w/o any problems or discomfort. This is kind of surprising given their size.

Presentation

It's ok, though the JVC sign deal sticks out of ones ears. It doesn't bother me though.

Price

About $170... Not too bad. It's a triple dynamic driver design, and I think it sound pretty nice.

Overall

I like it, and it fits me.

Un-compensated... Compare to similarly measured IEMs.

The times I’ve heard these I couldn’t get over the bass hump.  I’m beginning to wonder with some of these dynamics that if I’m not inserting them far enough, maybe I’m under-dampening them?  I have similar issues with the FX700s and found that if I employ a loose-fit to the FXZ200 I can get them to my liking.  The elsewhere mentioned ‘j444 mod' would probably also work well here.

The geek in me loves the design of these things.  They are huge but sort of like the Sony dynamics the bulk seems to stay clear of my ear openings.  BTW ultrabike, while I have you here have you gotten around to the Zero Tenores?  I’d be interested to see your measurements on those- so I can reference these and your other measurements, etc.  I guess what I'm asking is:  Please measure them and post if you can!

A CSD would be interesting on these. I thought they had loose, echoey sounding treble. Interesting idea for design though.

I think they are a little bassy, but not too bad.

As far as the Zero Tenores, sure thing... Ship 'em.

Nice wall they built there, out of brick. Never mind, those are uncompensated, right? This would rather suggest some 3k wide dip and a bit of high end rolloff.

It's a bit bassy and warm, but I enjoyed it. Still, it's $170 and competition at that price range might be strong.
