This is the shelf liner I got. Not as thick as the one from the anax mod.But I will try your holey felt suggestion first. What I want: decrease treble from 8.5k to 13k, increase energy from 1k to 2k, leave the rest of the spectrum as it is.Thanks for your commitment, Tor4!

I still have the HE-500.I am personally settled on the second version (using all the optional steps as well) but I can imagine some may find it a bit too dark and mellow. However, the Angle mod really improved soundstage, sense of openness and imaging significantly and therefore they don't sound closed-in anymore that way - just smooth, clean and forgiving along with well-defined soundstage (a really nice combination to have). The version 1 is a bit brighter and more analytical (tighter and better separated bass, more crystal clarity overall). Not sure whether Angle mod affects bass on that version unfortunately, didn't have a chance to try.Hope someone will find it useful... I love modding and Hifiman headphones especially :-)

I couldn't even listen to LCD-2 rev1 without this modification.(you remove the grills and foam/felt at the top in order to get what you see at the bottom)But, after performing this, there is not much else you could do... Pad-rolling (or removing pads in order to try out some possible mods) on Audeze headphones is a nightmare due to their stupid adhesive-rings mounting mechanism. And, no less important, it's easier to dampen a brighter-than-neutral headphones than brighten-up a warmer-than-neutral one.Still, I would personally try to remove grills + felt/foam discs underneath... and specifically for Audeze headphones - find the best possible angled pads to avoid artificial reflections or lack of openness and imaging accuracy (be it LCD-3's leathers or other well-made ones).
