DAPs with channel balance adjustment
« on: May 27, 2013, 02:49:36 PM »

I got some of this shit stuck in my left inner ear awhile back and, while I'm currently taking steroids and regularly trying to expel it as per my ENT's recommendations, I fear I may have incurred some permanent hearing loss.

Right now listening on anything where I can't lower the right channel volume to compensate isn't very enjoyable.  Are there many DAPs out there that will let me do this?  I'd prefer something with a very low output impedance as well since I have quite a few IEMs I quite like.

Any idea if that applies to Rockboxed iPod Classics as well?

Wow, scary. I have few friends that use this stuff. Did the ENT say how it got from your outer ear canal into you inner ear? Good luck, hope it will gets out soon.

If you want to amp... the SR-71B has split attenuators for each channel.  I remember another listener that had some damage in one ear set his up to compensate.

Balance control is a standard feature on Cowon's MP3 players, at least my D2 and S9 both have it.

daps with android have it as well, providing that you download third party music players like poweramp, jetaudio, etc
