Mapletree Audio
« on: May 11, 2013, 10:56:12 AM »

So does anyone else own one of Lloyd's creations?  His website is http://hollowstate.netfirms.com/.

I've had a Mapletree Ear + Purist HD100 headphone amp that I got from HF now for 7+ years and absolutely love it.  Not as resolving as my pimped CTH, but smoother - more enjoyable without being syrupy.

Just wondering if anyone else has experience with these wonderful amps.

Yikes. Your formatting got nerf'd. Here it is fixed:

They have legendary synergy with Grados from what I've read. Haven't tried them myself however.

I mostly talk about music there. Weird.

One of the Bay Area guys grabbed one a just before I left town, I was really hoping to hear it.  Not sure if CEE TEE got any time with it or not?

No time with the unit really, I did have Robert help him fix it though.  (All the wires were orange.  Label before disconnecting anything on that particular unit!)

Haven't listened to a Grado in a while.  If I get a chance to hear it later this year I will let you know. (He also has a Woo WA7 that is supposed to arrive but the glass supplier had issues).

These amps probably got me as close as I've ever been to enjoying a Grado, if that means anything.

While I haven't used any of the amps outside a meet I owned (and would like to own again) one of his passive switches. Great little piece of kit.
