Well, this one may not go as far back as dinosaurs, but I'm sure it'll at least transport the listener back to the time a recording was made, and allow them to peer through into the venue at the time to enjoy not just a reproduction of the sounds being recorded, but the actual performance itself.

I hope that is a good way to approximate its sound?

The Moth 2A3 was quite beautiful sounding, yes.

Most of the old Moths however aren't as sonnically capable as the newer Eddie Current stuff to my understanding. They just look and are built much better.

I was originally going to have Craig upgrade the Moth 2A3 so that it was the best of both worlds: his more recent ideas with the better Moth parts. That would have been something: on or above the level of the Balancing Act. But Craig has his hands full enough with his [Eddie] current stuff, so sadly this was not to be.

I mostly talk about music there. Weird.

Well, the moth does have a certain warmth and smoothness that the current lineup just doesn't have. It never strays into stridency.  When people talked about the ZD being a smooth ride in a luxury car that doesn't necessarily let you feel all the bumps in the road, I felt that was pretty apt.  Not going to be as piercingly detailed as a 445 or mkiv, but not everyone is looking for that.

No.  But Moth did have an amp called the s45 that ran both:

The ZDSE is still my favorite Eddie Current amp (Nautilus excluded). Wish I could get it with something like the original Moth Xana casework, even though I think the ZDSE has its own industrial beauty.
