Apologies for the 3 year bump...

I'm new here, going through threads reading about HD800 vs HD700 vs HD650's.

I'm curious if you ever posted about the quality of the HD700's after eq'ing them to tame the 6khz peakiness? (I searched but didn't find much discussion about the HD700 & eq).

Welcome aboard!

The HD700 are still among the WORST headphones I have ever heard. I don't think any pirate actually owns an HD700.

I almost did. Then Bill smacked some sense into me.

Not to resurrect this thread, but I own a HD700 and enjoy them a lot. I see what issues you guys mention, though the midrange dip is not all the audible to me.

Haven't you always been a Beyerdynamic fiend, though?  Your immunity to treble peaks may contribute to you liking the HD700.

True, I have always loved beyers and treble has never bothered me. Perhaps that's why I don't notice the peaks as much?

Also I am a bit perplexed by the brownie points system? I didn't see any mention of it when joining, so am unsure what that even means.
