Spotify Apps
« on: February 08, 2013, 11:24:16 AM »

Since I'm in the UK my streaming options are limited by copyright laws.  This has pretty much put me in the Spotify camp.  I like the streaming option during the day at work because it lets me "discover" new music.  I like to check the threads here for recommendations, bring it up on Spotify and then if I like it I purchase it in some format later for my collection.

One new thing (to me) that I've been using in the Apps inside Spotify.  For instance this week I've been using the Rolling Stones Recommends app.  It's integrated, so as I read about a new album or song I can just click and listen.  They've got great playlist of new and classic stuff.  Pretty fun way to hear new music!

Another cool one is the Bands In Town app.  It keeps track of what I like to listen to and then it shows me bands I might like that are playing locally!  Since this is London, the selection is great.  I like it because it reminds me to get out and enjoy some live music!

There are plenty of apps that are genre specific, flash lyrics during playback, and more.

Chris... You should check out Equalify (add-on) if you're a Windows-dweller.

It's handy.

The only windows machine I'm stuck using is one at work (for now, I'm working on setting up a Mac) so I'll download it now!!  Thanks!
