I recall (vaguely) someone who spoke to Stax recently at a show and got the info that they wanted to make a companion to the 009 (presumably on a T2 level) but weren't even sure if they wanted to make it tube or SS, which showed where they were in development at the time.  (Maybe this was from Amos or mkutoba?  I don't remember.)

I recall having this conversation at a previous Fuyiva Avic festival, maybe fall 2011 or spring 2012. At the time, they were indeed not even sure which route to go (SS / Tubes). I don't recall any mention of being T-2, albeit it was to be a flagship amp to go with the 009...

The relation to the T2 was probably just a construct in my head, the logic probably went "if its a companion piece, then if they go all-out with the amp like they did with the headphones, you would hope for something on a T2 level as that's a plateau they've reached before, less would be a bit of a letdown."

Cool.  I assume "Please take care of me" is a standard greeting?

I've seen NOS T2's twice on yahoo japan that I can remember... one was something like 8K, one was more than that.

Yes it is. My girlfriend works for PwC and she goes to their Tokyo office quite abit, so she brings home some Japanese culture :P (and other goodies).

Also anyone who sees a T2 for sale contact me, or the original Omega =)))

I won't post this on head-fi because like I said, you guys have one in the works. Also I presume the questions asked will be on a more professional scale. Hopefully the T2 statement will not be contradicted.

Flagship amp has to be better than the T2... thats promising.

BTW, you were right on the money...

thanks shipsupt,

it was a bit of an effort. I did my last translation tonight (english to french this time) and I swear, I got enough of reading the thing!

Anyhow, hope you all enjoy the read. It is rather politically correct and I am sure you'd want to scratch this further like I did but there's only so much ground one can cover during a 1 hour interview and so much you can say when the "whole world" is watching. Hopefully, this isn't the last time we have this!

cheers,
arnaud.

I hope political correctness won't enter the HF conversation and the readers are mature enough to handle mentions of both objective measurement standards and listening tests without blowing a fuse.

Did you guys get to fit in a listening session?  headbang

"Particularly in the case of amplifiers, we must comply with the safety norms in China." - ROFLMAO!!

How did you guys let him off the hook wrt the new amp?  Apart from hypothesizing that the new case will be a tetrahedron, any idea if tube or SS?  Since they still do the 007tA, I presume they haven't given up on tubes like Sennheiser has.

I would like see a movie, Suzuki Dreams of STAX, where the 10 year employees are scrubbing toilets and massaging diaphragm material.
