When I first got it I had it on and playing constantly for over a week. After that I've had it on most of the time, but did give it a break for a day or two. At this point is has at least 250-300 hours on it and will have another 150 before I have to make the decision. FWIW the amp has not changed since I turned it on.

purrin - Have you pulled the trigger on the Gungnir? Interested to read your take on the whether Schiit addressed the issue you've alluded to with the pre-production unit. I haven't detected any glaring flaws but I haven't heard anything better. All I know is that it's a significant step above the Bifrost and the most rewarding upgrade to my chain in some time. The M51 still looms in the background and I wonder if the finished Gungnir bridges the gap somewhat.

Got a surprise when someone asked about noise with high sensitivity IEMs on Mjolnir in balanced mode. That it was silent was not the surprise, however. The UERM in balanced on these amps is just incredible. The only issue I ever had with the UERM was lack of sparkle and detail. This is largely addressed with either of these amps in concert with the improved DAC. Compared to the HD800, the sparkle and detail is still not quite right, but compared to how I've heard the UERM before, this is excellent.

With the BHA-1 these are ridiculous. I feel like I can reach out and grab the instruments.

Ultimately in the amp comparison, the BHA-1 wins in capability in a price-no-object fashion. The Mjolnir performs above it's price range, for sure and is thus the winner for the budget minded. $750 vs $1295. Having the BHA-1 to compare it to, I'd say the Mjolnir is worth as much as $1000. It's really really good, and so far the only Schiit amp I would live with.

I will be keeping the BHA-1 and returning the Mjolnir.

Are you using an adaptor for the UERMs, or do you have a dedicated cable with XLR(s)?

Not yet. I haven't heard the Gungnir. I don't expect it to be a resolution monster. It was soft sounding at the Village meet. Sounded good at T.H.E. SHOW, and then sounded a little fuzzy and imprecise at H3. Supposedly they were still tweaking it until they released it. Right now I'm pretty happy with a Behringer DCX2496 which I've modded.
