I can safely say you can scratch the T51p off your list if you want HD800 portable sound.
It does sound fairly good but NOT reference grade good.
Sure (not Shure) you can read a lot of good comments on them but you can find an equal amount of good reports on almast any headphone.

I use an EQ'ed DT1350 which has is good and bad points but it ain't no substitute for HD600/650/700/800.

You could consider an AZ modded PM2 ?
Of course there is a price tag but if you can pay for the HD800 the AZ PMX should probably be within your limits.

The 'Tesla' bit is just a marketting phrase, there are headphones from other brands with even higher magnetic field strenghts.
To some Tesla is synonymus with peaky treble or high effeciency and neither needs to be the case.

Won't buy IEM's myself as I don't like to shove things in my ear.
CIEM's may be more comfortable but no thanks.

what about portable cans? I tried pm-3 but I found the isolation wasn't good enough for portable use and they were a little boring sounding. I heard good things about the t51p considering they are a a tesla beyer can I find that really suprising lol

I haven't heard the t51p but I doubt it's going to have much soundstage since small sealed enclosures is usually soundstage's natural enemy.  The Bose QC15s actually have a decently large soundstage because of the angle their drivers are mounted at but the rest of the sound is so-so.  Isolation is excellent though.

Maybe you could try using some variant of T50RP mod as a portable.  You can get good soundstage out of those with some angled pads.

You'd need a ported IEM and maybe a softer sweeter sonion type treble and/or smooth BJT style opamps upstream.

A good DT1350 with a bit of EQ for the midrange to highs transition could partially do the trick too.

A portable HD800 is a lot to ask for...

A vented dynamic driver iem (or one of those truly vented shell FAD ba designs) might be your best bet. Dynamic drivers tend to do timbre much better than armatures, at least in my experience.
