Okay, certainly unconventional, but could you elaborate on your statement? Not challenging or anything, just want to learn. Thanks

I really don't want to elaborate too much, so I'll summarize:
1. Santa is a victim of the jitter boogeyman, his paranoia lends him supernatural hearing acuity:
2. His whole gist is basically calling for the reinvention of the wheel, only with more spins (arbitrarily high internal sampling rate).
3. The DirectStream DAC measures like shit, there's clear evidence that no trained electrical engineer looked over the design and fixed Santa's bullshit. 3% THD in the subbass is impressive in speakers, but not so much in a DAC.
4. There are much better resources to learn from, especially ones that don't attempt to sell you their house guru's own idiosyncratic design philosophies at a four figure premium.
e.g.
Once you get to DAC design, it's best to veer off to a book. Suffice to say that there really hasn't been any great new development in DAC tech, only rehashes of the same few basic approaches. Which the DirectStream is, and not a very competent rehash at that.
