Yet another commercial Fostex mod, this time for cheap.
« on: May 27, 2015, 12:18:36 AM »

DISCLAIMER: He is showing stolen FR plots from Tyll and calling them his own, I wouldn't support this guy.

PlanarMagnetic aka C.J. Hughes launched a kickstarter campaign for his custom-enclosure Fostex-driver-based headphones, he secured some of the drivers from the last mk2 runs for a good price, so supplies are limited.
Prices are exemplary and FR measurements are already shown to be not unlike the other good mods, perhaps even a bit better. BEWARE: Plots were stolen from Tyll's Mad Dog Pro and Alpha Dog measurements.

Pretty sure they stole the Alpha Dog 2014 and Mad Dog 2014 measurements from Innerfidelity and used that on the Kickstarter page. Closed matches right channel AD, open matches right channel MD. Maybe I'm wrong, but they look identical.

Not sure if they're trying to pass that off as their measurements or if they're listing that as their target measurement.

Not a hugely viable endeavor considering the driver is being phased out , guess this will make for cheap version 1 and justify massive increase in version 2 ..dB

You're right, they look identical. That's pretty iffy.

Maybe, but he says he won't make more runs.

Good catch, hans! It's the same or very close, and the rest of his story beggars belief. Get your money back while you still can.

Even if he got those drivers at a stupid low price, the prices are so cheap it almost seems sketchy...

I really wish there was an option to report a kickstarter as being sketchy as hell, but looks like the only thing they're in violation of is using Tyll's charts.

I think FR are not from his headphone as he was just asking about measurement rig on HF other day.
Other guy said the description on his website matches from Audeze with slight variation.

Maybe, but he says he won't make more runs.
1000 maybe more as he has  access to the surplus drivers from the discontinued T50RP

I think FR are not from his headphone as he was just asking about measurement rig on HF other day.
The problem is that he is saying the graphs are from his pairs, and he had them 'measured professionally' in a small studio. What a scumbag.
