I know many of you have the Schiit Wyrd. I have used this Chinese, Douk-audio(?), Random-audio, Whatever-audio dac with the Wyrd:

What makes this one bit different is the implementation.
It has 4x Phillips TDA1543 parallel. I believe it achieves better S/N ratio that way. It also uses CM108 usb receiver, that also acts as filter for the TDA1543. The 4xTDA1543 can swing enough voltage that it doesn't need anything more. Only attenuation.
The CM108 datasheet shows the frequency curve, and if you hear above say, 15-17Khz this (maybe) is not good sounding to you.
So the CM108 takes the usb, then it transfers to I2s and into the Tda1543 I2s input, and then V-out with attenuation.
The Wyrd delivers the good usb-signal (20pps crystal) and pure/stable power, and to my ears, the result is not half bad
Certainly better than the ES9023 usb dacs what i have heard.
But, it is true, just like Marv wrote somewhere. Once you hear the Theta:s special filter and its very good imaging, anything else seems to be way worse and just not acceptable. Not even this 35€ dac is good enough
