Take the test here:

Then report back, and, if you like, give yourself a British name.

I like classical music, so I got the "Elite" class...

About the name, my name would be something like Robert Woodington.

Pretty spot on  :)p8

Emergent service workers

This class group is financially insecure, scoring low for savings and house value, but high for social and cultural factors. According to the Great British Class Survey results, lots of people in this group:

Are young
Enjoy a cultured social life
Rent their home - almost 90%

Edit: added British name.

  • In the end... cats.

Then report back, and, if you like, give yourself a British name.

"Established Middle Class." --- I could have told you that when I was 8! Although, some time in my 20s, I reckoned like this: "I have to work for a living, even though I don't want to, therefore I must be working class!"

At the age of 8, if there had been a similar survey, there would have been a whole section on one's parents and their profession. Grandparents might be considered too. Number of generations one can count back makes for class points. But, in the end, when the chips are down (or on the plate), nothing matters as much as which knife, fork, spoon etc one uses and how you hold them.

British name? I've got one already. ahoy

I think assets and how much you have stashed in the bank have a lot to do with it.

Well, as suggested above, I am British, so so is my name, but...

Years ago, one cold winter's day in London, a colleague looked out of the window and remarked, "There'll never be snow today."

I saw a great name in there, especially if one could get a knighthood: Sir Netherby Snow

My online name is not British, and has its roots in Indian percussion --- but it would go quite well with "Sir," too!
