questions about this website
« on: February 09, 2015, 01:46:27 PM »

I joined this website today. Nice to meet you!
I'm not the native English speaker, so I'm not very good at English.

Questions:
1. I can see many usernames on measurement forum. That means Anyone can unload a measurement data at this forum? Even if the measurement tool is not vertified by International Standards?
2. Frequency response measurement data of this site is uncompensated? There is no explanation about measuring conditions on each thread.
3. Any notices about using this website?

Thanks for the reply.

Nice to meet you too !

1: Yes, even those who do not know what they are doing exactly and just faff around.

2: It can be compensated, raw and from various different test tigs under different conditions.
There isn't a single measurement tool/rig on here that has been certified, calibrated or tested by independent notified bodies.
We don't care... and view the presented data as indicative only, not as real facts.
Some of the 'measurement crowd' have discussed their rigs to some extend here and there.
As said this isn't hard science, this is a hobby not an international standard organization.
Just guys having fun.
B.t.w. I don't know if you have checked out other sites that DO use official and certified gear but IF you have you may have noticed that all of them put out different results of similar headphones, use proprietary compensation and whatnot.
Just to be clear.... you CAN'T measure headphones or speakers accurately in an absolute sense nor do any of us pretend they are to be treated this way.

3: Yes, they used to be found on the home page, don't know where they went. (http://www.changstar.com/index.php/topic,748.0.html) <--- oops there they are !
One of them is to introduce yourself in the introduction thread. (http://www.changstar.com/index.php/topic,1784.0.html)

Welcome aboard. Like Frans said, we are here to have a little fun and share opinions and anything else, about anything else. Looking forward to seeing your measurements.  ahoy
