Hahahaha.

Well, I'm using an ODAC (and Geek Out 450).  :)p8

Anyway, working on front damping now and probably will post the rest of the mod soon. The result is pretty impressive. I can't wait for either Ravi or CEE TEE to put this headphone on and go "WTF".

What are the copper rings meant to do?

Also on a side note, what app are you using to measure things with your phone?

Copper rings are there due to my crazy hypothesis that more clarity and lower distortion can be realized by adding rigid mass that absorbs low frequencies, and because the contact points are very small due to the circular cross section, the rings are very good at absorbing low frequencies.

This isn't the same as making an aluminum enclosure (a la LCD-X), because vibrations can transmit all throughout the whole enclosure when there is more contact.

Think tube dampeners/rings but for a rigid headphone baffle.

Now, I reckon copper spheres/balls will be even better, but I haven't found a place that sells small dense copper balls yet, plus placing and securing them inside the enclosure would be a nightmare.

Not much more so than the solid steel headband or the drivers.

Actually, I think weight increase is pretty minimal, and probably not at LCD-X level yet...

Thanks to circumstances, I obtained an LCD-2 rev.2 (non-fazor)
But in the pictures you actually have version 2.1. Unless you got updated drivers in that. Rev. 2 has angled connectors.

You're probably confusing models with and without fazors. There were LCD-2 rev.2 without fazors that did not have the angled connectors:

I think the angled connectors only come in models with fazors, but I could be wrong.

You could have both.

Audeze changed the connectors part way in between the LCD-2 rev.2s.

You'll be able to find Rev. 2s with the old straight connectors and the new angled connectors.

Personally prefer the angled connectors myself, but...

Well, mine looks straight, but when worn, it's actually slightly angled.

Ah. Didn't know that. Looks like the headband is Rev. 2.
