Hi Fellow Pyrates,
As the topic states, I have been thinking about adding a USB Gen 2 input card to my Bifrost Uber. Right now, I am only using an Optical cable from my PC to the Bifrost Uber and can only acheive 24/96, but I wanted to be able to use 24/192, and as I understand this can be achieved with the USB Gen 2 Input card.
Anyway, I wanted to know how difficult it would be to install the card yourself. I build computers for a living and have a lot of experience with electronic components such as motherboards, GPU’s, soundcards etc. but I have never upgraded an audio component like this before. Is it difficult to install? Do you need to do any soldering or is there a simple slot that the card can connect to and just screwed into place?
In all honesty, I would feel much better for Schiit to do the professional installation of the card, but I don’t have a lot of money as it is – much less after buying my family their Christmas presents, so I was trying to save the $50.00 install fee if possible thus I was wondering if it is difficult to install the USB Gen 2 Input Card.
I searched the new for install videos for it or even a thread and/or webpage that showed how to install it, but had no luck finding anything.
Has anyone here installed the card themselves and if so, is it difficult? If anyone has any pics and/or diagrams of hw it is done or can simply explain how to install it it would be a huge help.
Thank you fellow pirates for any advice and/or installation tips and procedures anyone could provide.
