Another New Headphones from Koss : Pro4S

From paper, it is a basically studio version of SP540, using same type of drivers and pads, but with stronger body frame, dual inlets, and coiled cable (argh).

But from Tyll's video about these new headphones, it seems Pro4S and SP540 are voiced in different way. My original plan was getting both of them and sell inferior one.

Tyll, if you are reading this, did you get Pro4S on your hand?

Just got an email from them this AM. They're sending them post haste. I'll post measurements here as soon as I have some since it'll be a while before the next Update shows up.

They did sound different and superior to me at RMAF.

Really promising. I got weak and just placed an order. After comparing both Pro4S and SP540, I will sell less sounding one.

Yup. But haven't even taken them out of the box yet.  Will prolly get around to measurements this week. I'll post up when I can.

It's arrived and I am listening to it.

All I can say is Pro4S and SP540 sound quite different.. They are really completely different headphones despite both use same drivers.

Soundwise... I am not so sure if I can say Pro4S sounds better than SP540.. I am keep listening, but I am thinking that Koss engineers might had pushed this headphone too hard.

comfort and build quality, Pro4S is better on both regards. Due to being a studio headphone, it squeezes a head harder yet it is not uncomfortable level. There is enough space and extension unlike SP540 so it will probably fit everyone's head. The whole cups are made of aluminum, and plastic parts are non-rubberized. The padding of earpads is also slightly different from SP540 (slightly less)

One thing I hate about this headphone is coiled cable, and no straight cable is provided. I am currently using the cable came with SP540.

Or maybe I have been too used to warm-sounding headphone (listening to SP540, HD650 and LCD series)... I am keep listening.

All I can say now is that sound is very good.
