Bug Head Emperor [Audio Player]
« on: November 02, 2014, 01:49:04 PM »

I've discovered Bug Head Emperor a month ago and I find it very pleasant, way better than my Foobar.

http://oryaaaaa.world.coocan.jp/bughead/index.html

I'm a noob in sound science so maybe this is some kind of audio bullshit.

What do you think guys ?  :)p5

I downloaded and installed. Messed around with things I have zero idea with. And played songs with the buggy interface. Still trying to hear what's different from F2k.

I hated the UI so much any audible improvement is irrelevant to me :P  This is another insane oddball player like xxhighend

I feel that compared to F2k, I "feel" this Bug thingy has more air. The staging feels more oval? Is it the right word? Less sharp is what i felt tho.

Can't really ABX because of the annoying 7 second waiting time. I can't even pause it and play the same song on foobar as it says in foobar "device is currently in use".

-addon-
Too much a hassle to wait. Songs selected didn't play, instead the previous song was played. Tried a few times on a few selected tracks for the first 10-15 seconds comparison with F2k. F2k didn't really sacrifice any (if there is) detail and F2k totally wins in usability. Wait till I learn how to properly setup the Bug player then I'll do another round of comparison. I'm just messing around aimlessly at the choices available lol.

read on hf. too much improvement reported. i wonder what went wrong with mine.

Try the JPlay demo. It can work with either Foobar or JRiver as a UI front end if desired, or you can go insane with all of the hibernate/overdrive stuff.

Jplay? I think there's sth free called Fidelizer. New version isn't making my computer that lag anymore.

Two different things. Fidelizer just attempts to optimize Windows audio playback by shutting down non-essential services in a non destructive way. JPlay is audio playback software. It can play music on its own through a VERY simplistic interface, or you can use JRiver or Foobar to control it.
