vintage big eye cat painting. is it original?

i found this painting in a local weird very small junk/antique shop that never knew existed. i love kitties so i got the picture for 10 bucks. the artist so far as i know browsing around is GIG from the 1960's supposedly. this seems original cause it looks like oil based painting on some very old looking wood with thin wax covering on the wood(i guess to protect the paint?). don't know if it's really original or not but looking online all the similar pictures like mine seem like prints and color of them was way different(like brighter or something) and in picture frames.

the lady told me her grandparents traveled a lot and collected lot of junk from their travels. just wonder if it is original, do you think it's worth anything in it's current condition? also wonder if anyone is familiar with this artist/painter?

just wondering personally. i probably just end up keeping it even if it is worth little something or even nothing cause i like kitties.

i forgot to mention that it has signature at the corner with a ''c'' and a circle around it. what would i look for if i was trying to find out if it was original and value? what would a good place would be to check out for this sort of stuff? i read  so far ''c'' in a circle started in the 1930's or something to mark the artists original and to prevent copy writing. as you can tell the picture doesn't look like it's printed on the wood so i assume not a copy print right?

Honestly, that's something had to tell from a low rez picture posted on the internet.  For all I can tell it was photo-genesis'd on a rock at 150dpi.

Might want to get in touch with some art or antique appraisers.

Most, but not all, mass-printed-picture material is screened, ie the picture is broken up into lots and lots of dots. Check with a magnifying glass.
