Fuze RMAA 30 Ohm, 60 Ohm, 120 Ohm, 300 Ohm, 600 Ohm, 600 Ohm//1nF, no load.
Also some scope pictures of squarewave reproduction (100 Ohm load).
All in one ZIP file.

The RMAA plots all show a big 50Hz hump and some poles between 500Hz and 1.5kHz.
These are caused by the setup (will improve this one day).
Ignore them.

It shows the higher the load the worse the distortion (THD and IM) but this shouldn't come as a surprise.

Here: http://www.mediafire.com/view/4ihmwgpiii0mify/RightMark_Audio_Analyzer_test_Clip_Sport_v1.pdf  you can download the RMAA report of the Sansa Clip Sport with v1.7 firmware.
Jitter is about the same but the 2 poles around 1kHz that were visible in the dynamic range test are gone.
I already found that the sound of the Sport sporting the v1.7 firmware was much closer to the Fuze.
The lack of the 2 poles may have had something to do with it.

For those interested in the scope pictures of the Sansa Clip Sport and the RMAA reports of v1.09 and v1.17 firmware they are enclosed in the other ZIP file.

THD looks like a tubeamp.

Funny you say that, my super 7 that has seven tubes in it sounds more clear, SS and analytical than the Fuze which always struck me as somewhat warm sounding which is why I always thought the Clip+ sounded better.  I believe the Clip+ measured better than the Fuze fro all the measures I recall.

The Fuze does measure quite different on 44.1kHz compared to 48kHz.

Fuze 44.1kHz no load: http://www.mediafire.com/view/6a0dds2yz5txcw6/RightMark_Audio_Analyzer_test_Fuze_no_load_44.1kHz.pdf
Fuze 48kHz no load: http://www.mediafire.com/view/g8639qn5v1996y1/RightMark_Audio_Analyzer_test_Sansa_Fuze_16-48.pdf

On 44.1kHz the roll-off starts at 10kHz and is down 0.7dB at 20kHz where as on 48kHz there is a slight increase (0.05dB) above 10kHz and is it still flat well over 20kHz.

Well that is interesting.  I'll pass it along to a friend that still uses his Fuze.  Thx.

I will take note of this in future testing, thanks Solder!

Thus my ears told me to equalise the sound of my Fuze. The primitive equaliser made enough of a difference for casual listening.

The roll-off (Fuze) is only present on 44.1kHz files (most files are ?) and just -0.7dB at 20kHz.
When you pull up the 5th slider (I think it is around16kHz) just 1 notch you are already overcompensating.

I use the custom EQ on the Fuze
Band 1: +7
Band 2: +6
Band 3: +6
Band 4: +6
Band 5: +6

Without that setting the Fuze sounds as lifeless as a carcass with a portable speaker in it on diminishing battery power. The Clip is better stock. The portable headphone in question is the K181 DJ.
