Did them a couple weeks ago but did not post them on the interwebz and yes I still think that combined harmonics make a difference in transparency and all that jazz.
Chain: Ipod(line out)> RCA to XLR EMU0404(linear psu)> Fujitsu Laptop(battery)
Jitter: Two devices used the 1240 which is more revealing of the ipod's jitter(tested via headphone out), the EMU0404 is used to test the line out.
Comments: To me, add an amp and I will be fine for most of the time, legitly transparent enough for my mobile use though I always prefer the home rig. Better sounding then the DX50 to my ears(sounds like mud). Very closed sounding soundstage which makes using them with HD800+ whatever amp to be terribad choice, best with in-ears where you have little sense of space. I think harmonics has to do with this.
Notes on measurements: THD though low has multiple high orders though in this respect its lesser than the DX50 though the DX50 I think tries to emulate tube amps(and phails). Dynamic range is particularly full of pickets which may point to undesirable parts of its sound. Jitter is notably worst then modern DACs(more low frequency timing uncertainty) and some symmetrical side bands in the headphone out measurement. Other than that, it seems pretty good.
EMU0404 has some slight left channel distortion, test are done with no load.
Disclaimer: YMMV, Total Bullshit, NOT science.
