QH's T50RP mod - uncompensated graphs - assuming the Paradox s/n #001 is the most neutral.

Yellow = QH's T50RP
Green = RD's with Purrin's hole pokies
Purple = Paradox

Eek! I had a feeling they were light on the bass. Seemed to be that way since putting on this particular coffee filter over the drivers -- as I think the type that I use is a bit restrictive of airflow. Wasn't sure if it was just because I was comparing to LCD-2, though.

And now that I think about it, I may or may not have left random bits of cardboard inside. Was playing around with it and rushed to send the box down without remembering to take it out.

Anyway, thanks for helping with these measurements. Very helpful to have these to work off of.

Nice!  Getting bass is easier than getting the upper mids even, which you seem to have done.  How did you attach the coffee filter?  Do you have the stock damping paper on there as well?  What are you using in the cups?

It might be easy to get more bass by poking a few holes into some of the squares.

But it looks like the peak at 10k might be a signature of the coffee filter, assuming we're using the same kind.

Nope. No stock damping paper on mine. I took it off early on, and then am using the coffee filter to substitute now. I attached it with rubber cement. Not sure of the brand, as I stole the filter from my work. I do distinctly remember there were two types there, and one seemed denser than the other. I picked the one that seemed most like the stock paper. I did try this same setup on my friend's pair with the stock damping felt, and there definitely was more bass, although I felt it was a bit "bloomy" especially with male vocals.

Didn't think to try poking holes in the paper actually. Thanks for the tip!

Nice!  Just be careful and check out a picture of the bare driver first, and make holes where the steel bar is, not where the row of holes are.  I'd recommend starting with a push pin and just 1 hole/square as it may not need much.  And also start with the 4 middle outside squares.  You'll get bass real quick :-)

looks nice(except the bass part of course). so that what basically happens if you remove the felt on the driver? actually interesting and i wonder why. i actually found no issues getting bass out of the fostex, i found it more difficult getting a good air response out of them then anything else but i'm pretty much done with mine now and haven't touched mine for about couple days now.
