Disclaimer: the SRC is *SO BAD* that it adds 30dB of noise and 10x THD%. Resample your music to 48k before you play it or face the SRC's wrath.

Is that what we're seeing with the high amplitude signals? Some sort of lobe-ing?

Probably. It still looks resampled even at its native rate--it's just resampled the best.

I think this thing crunches 48k down to 48k even though it's already 48k.

The DAC itself is really good, though. If only we could get bit perfect.

Have you used the Neutron player?

My experience with Neutron is that it plays all kinds of stuff, even WMA Lossless. I didn't have a good experience so I ditched it instead of buying it.

What i meant was that the Neutron Player is bit perfect and it brings out the sound quality of the DAC, plus it plays louder than other players.

I have the full version and i am very happy with it.

I also use it on my Galaxy Note 3 and enjoy it.  The user interface is lacking though.

Connect a headphone to the Galaxy output and see what the measurements really are. The measurements you show are only valid if you use an external amplifier driving the phones.

I'm going to try resampling to 48k in Jriver and seeing if I can get good sound out of this thing.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I should get better battery life when playing back WAV rather than MP3, yes?
